Keeping up with Marissa: forget the Kardashians.

I can't believe that it is already Thursday and I am another day closer to going back to classes on Monday. Oh, spring break, how I will miss this week off to do the things I really want to do. Speaking of the things that I have been doing, I feel like I really haven't beeing doing any life-blogging. If that makes any sense at all. I have been very emotional lately, as I am sure you guys can tell from my previous posts. But, I am going to fill you in on the recent happenings in my life. Which, granted, still aren't very exciting, I like to think I can lead an interesting life every now and again.

photo one | Tuesday I had the wonderful opportunity to actually take some time out for myself and go and get my hair done. Keeping up my blonde persona takes hard work! Dark roots were giving me a head ache and they needed to be gone. I went to a new salon near my work and I absolutely love how she did it and how it came out. I just sat back, relaxed, sipped my mocha iced latte and listened to Rihanna. Unfortunately right after the appointment, I had to run to work. Sad face.

photo two | I spent Tuesday night with Felicia. I was having a really rough afternoon after my hair appointment because I am a girl and I overthink everything and happen to be very dramatic. She met me up at my house after I closed and we headed to dinner together, then rushed over to Target and picked up some things for the ultimate pathetic single girls' party. We spent the night watching Dance Moms, Preacher's Daughters and then topped it off with Easy A.

photo three | Wednesday morning Felicia and I went out for breakfast to a local coffee shop. I grabbed a hazelnut coffee and a muffin to tie me over. It was a good time to sit back and get in gaear for the morning. And by morning, I mean, when this photo was taken, it was already around 11 AM.

photo four | After our breakfast/lunch - brunch - we headed to the movie theater (after another quick trip to Target, oops!) and saw Oz: The Great and Powerful. It was a good movie, and I am glad I saw it. Was it spectacular? Not really. Half the time I thought we were in Wonderland instead of Oz. But, the always handsome James Franco kept me entertained. If you want to go see it, go. It was a good time.

That's all that is really going on in my life at the current moment.
Hopefully some point in time I can actually be interesting and have you all love me.

Wise words from the peanut gallery.

Woah, hello there friends.
Sorry I haven't been around these parts for a while. I have been picking up extra work shifts, getting my hair done and then having mental breakdowns spending quality time with my best friends. Now is the first time since Sunday that I have been able to touch my laptop. So, sorry about going MIA there for a hot minute.

I spent a lot of time scrolling through my favorite blogs, and going through their archives. Does that make me sketchy? Just a little bit. Okay, I can live with that judgement. But, I was going through one of my favorite blogs Cupcakes & Cashmere, which is written by the lovely Emily. I saw that she made a manifesto because she was inspired by a pin she saw on Pinterest. Reading her list really inspired me to make my own manifest on things that I believe in.

I wrote a manifesto back in a writing class in high school. I am pretty sure mine was probably on being a performer or being artsy, shocker eh? Well, I decided to do one more based on my life and the things that I hold close and true to me. Here goes nothing.

I believe in dressing like you are going to meet Adam Levine and indulging yourself in whatever cravings you are having.
I believe in crying when you have to, to feel better, and laughing to help you get over it.
I believe in big, drawn out bear hugs.
I believe that an espresso can do no wrong and it can only do things amazingly right.
I believe that handwritten add a personal touch to any and all thoughts.
I believe that a girl is only as powerful as her nail polish.
I believe that you should take photos of everything, even if you look silly doing it.
I believe that a freshly opened chocolate bar and a little Real Housewives can be just as good as your best girlfriend.
I believe that smiling even when you are angry can put you in a better mood.
I believe that if you live each day without fear there is nothing that you can't do.
I believe that there is nothing more powerful than the lyrics of your favorite song.

What would be on your manifesto?

Friday Fun: True Colors iPhone Wallpaper.

As you have been reading this past week, your girl here has been getting a little heart felt and emotional. Did you really think that I was going to stop today? When I am on a role, I stay on that role until I am fully over it. Fortunately, thanks to my amazing friends and family that have been around me supporting me and giving me advice, I am ready to just move on and work on me and what makes me happy.

I guess you could say that today's Friday Fun is dedicated to all the supportive people in my life. They have shown me the best of themselves and I am so grateful for them, so I thank them: with Cyndi Lauper.

Save it to your computer and send it to your phone via e-mail,
or just open my blog on your phone and save the image from there.

Have a good weekend, chickies!

Over. Over. Over.

I am the first to admit it: I need third, fourth and fifth opinions before I do something. I need to ask everybody and their brother, and if that brother has another friend or animal around, I will also ask them. I just need verification or support for the decision I am going to make. It may be something as little as a pair of heels - no wait, I always buy the heels, no matter what - or whether I should go up and talk to a guy that I think is cute. Everyone's opinion is welcome. Whether I listen to them is a totally different story. I like to see what other people think and get some different views on things. But, essentially, I will always do what I want. Whether I spend $30 on heels I don't need, or want to vomit the entire time I am talking to that attractive male.

See, that's easy to say, right?
I do what I want.
I like to say "I do what I want" and think that I am actually doing what I want. But, am I actually letting other people affect my choice? That, I don't know. Is it possible? Abso-stinking-lutely. But, I am currently trying to make a conscious effort to (really) do what I want. Yes, I will always ask for other people to chime in and tell me what they think, but I am not going to let me persuade me to do something I don't want to do. Why? Because, I do what I want. Not what you want. Not want my friends want. Not what Taylor Swift wants. Not what your dog wants. What I, Marissa Faith, wants.

I found this little mantra on Pinterest and I couldn't have agreed more, so clearly I had to make a little word graphic, you know. I am finally going to do what makes me happy, and do what I want. I don't care if I look like a fool or wear heels too high I fall over. I will do it, learn from it and move on.

Anyone else with me?
